When the "Bite" is slow --- because it's too HOT, or too COLD, or just because it's a bad weather front from the north and a high pressure system --- topwater, weedless, Micro PLUGs, especially when fished on light tackle and fished with great finesse, can get you more fish and bigger fish. Weedless MicroPLUGs are "extreme finesse" Monster Bass Killers.

HardBodies
HardBody MicroPLUGs have more detail because they are extremely durable and they will hold their paint and color indefinitely, and their finish makes them easier to do finer details. The durability makes the extra working time spent on them worthwhile. They cast well on 10 lb. braid for longer distances, but you can use up to 20 lb braid to cast them around heavier cover when needed.

SoftBodies
SoftBody MicroPLUGs are soft & squeezy. Bass will hold onto them much longer, but they are extremely tough. They are also spongey inside, and they will absorb scents for a long period of time. They also absorb water, which increases their weight for casting long distances with 20 lb. braid line and larger spinning rods, allowing you to fish around heavy cover without as much threat of losing your fish. Soft PLUGs should last you for many years, catching hundreds of fish a year, but due to water absorption, they can sometimes alter their color over time, but they still keep catching bass.
